Geometry Class – 8-22-12

It’s Sketch Challenge time here at Stamp School!  I came up with an easy sketch and a CAS card.  I just am happy with clean and simple cards!

Here is the sketch;

And, here is my card;

See the fun button?  Quickly, 3 punched circles- glue together, punch 2 holes — holding button with tweezers in the holes (leaves holes open that way) – emboss with clear embossing powder.  I absolutely LOVE self made buttons! — So easy to have the exact match in color for anything you make!

Have fun with the sketch!  Remember you have until August 31st at 11:59 pm to play along. We’ll pick one winner to get a really great prize package!

Thanks for stopping by~

Geometry Class 08/08/2012

Hi all!  Amber here from The Country Scrapper to share a fun new sketch for Geometry Class.  Take a look:

This month Stamp School is focusing on birthdays.  My cousin will be having her Sweet 16 next month and I knew SS’s  birthday stamps would make the perfect card:

I had a great time glittering the candles to add extra shine:

I added to different stamps from the SS birthday sentiments and then added “16″ stickers.  I also added touches of felt – felt makes everything prettier!

We’re adding a submission form below this post. Make your card and post it on your blog (with a link to our blog of course). Submit your card by adding it below. Make sure to post it to the actual blog post and not just your general blog address. You have until 11:58 on the last day of the month to upload any challenge entries.

We will randomly choose a winner from each month’s submissions to win a prize package from Stamp School.  Enjoy!!!

Hi there!  Rochelle here!  It’s time for Geometry class and I’m glad that you’ve stopped by to join us!  It’s great to allow your stamps to the focal point of your project.  However, you know another great focal point is PAPER!

Stamp School uses some great Pop Tone and Bazzil colors that are sure to make your projects glow!  I decided to make my card shine with the new “Gold Coins” Bazzil color and a strip of “Red Hot” Pop Tone paper.  It makes a difference!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with using this new sketch!

We’re adding a submission form below this post. Make up your card and post it on your blog (with a link to our blog of course *wink*). Submit your card by adding it below. Make sure to post it to the actual blog post and not just your general blog address. You have until 11:58 on the last day of the month to upload any challenge entries.

We will randomly choose a winner from each month’s submissions to win a prize package from Stamp School.

Hi Everyone! It’s Jocelyn Olson, and I’m excited to be posting as the Guest Designer for June! I went through so many sketches trying to find just the right one for today’s post. I think it would have been much faster to draw my own! I ended up choosing a lovely sketch by Tami Mayberry at CPS:

I decided that the sketch would work perfectly for an invitation. Here’s what I came up with:

Hee hee. I had a good laugh making up the text. I used patterned paper from three collections (see below for supplies) and simply printed the information onto the cream Echo Park paper. I stamped the sweet bells from Down the Aisle and framed it with a Studio Calico wood veneer circle that I misted with pink and yellow mists.

Here’s a close-up of the bells:

This design is simple enough that you could easily mass produce some invitations with this stamp set (well, maybe not for a large wedding, but certainly a shower or rehearsal dinner).

Now for the challenge! Make up your card using the sketch above, post it on your blog, and add a link to your card below. Make sure to post it to your actual blog post and not just your general blog address. You have until 11:58 on the last day of the month to upload any challenge entries. A random winner will be chosen to receive a prize package from Stamp School!

You can check out my cards on my blog at: http://redballooncards.blogspot.com/. I’m currently in the Paper Crafts Magazine’s Gallery Idol competition. Please stop by my blog to vote for my card! Thanks for your support. Have a great day!

Hello! Samantha here today, and I have to tell you, I am so excited about today’s card. Recently I acquired a few of Faber Castell’s new Gelatos, and I got to use them multiple times on my card today.  If you’re not familiar with Gelatos, they’re a coloring medium that’s a bit like if you crossed a crayon with a tube of chap-stick. They’re kind of messy, which also makes them a lot of fun! Are you ready to see what I did with them? Okay, here’s the sketch I started my card with:

…and here’s my card:

What I especially like about Gelatos is that there are numerous ways to use them. They work on dark and light card stock, you can color directly on paper, color with a paint brush, use them dry or with water, and even do a type of emboss resist with them. For this card I used 2 different techniques. I used emboss resist to create the background. To color in my golf card from the Dad’s Tools stamp set, I used a direct to paper technique with the Gelatos where I colored directly onto the card stock and then used a wet paint brush to blend the color.  If you’d like to see this card being made start to finish so you can check out both ways I just described for using Gelatos you can see it all in the following video:

Don’t forget, today is also a sketch challenge day, so we’re adding a submission form below this post.

Hi Everyone -Lisa here today with the Geometry Class sketch.

Here is my card using Stamp School’s Men in My Life.

My card is a pretty simple one to re-create. I started with a Sour Apple card base. I cut a piece of Sno Cone cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4 and then diecut the Memory Box Leaf Canopy die. That way you can see the Sour Apple layer through the diecut. I used my Ink Blending Tool along with some Sno Cone ink, and went around the edges of the Sno Cone piece. Next, I cut the Memory Box Twiggy Tree out of Hot Fudge cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from Men in My Life using Hot Fudge ink. I then took a small brush tip marker from Faber-Castel and put a little dark green in every leaf.

This is a sketch challenge, so I hope you join in and play! Be sure to link your creation with Inlinkz at the bottom of this post. I would love to see your creations~ Remember, there is a random WINNER at the end of the month for some great goodies!

Geometry Class – 05-09-12

Hi Everyone – Vicki here today with the Geometry Class sketch.

Here is my card using Stamp School’s Christian Sympathy and Natural Landscape.

To achieve this look, I made a template the same size as my card, and cut out a circle.

Using Pop Tone Lemon Drop and Pop Tone Orange Fizz, I sponged inside of the template. Then, I stamped my tree.

Taking a post it, I taped it down and sponged on licorice for the ground.
I made my banner and popped up the image with pop dots, and my card is complete~

This is a sketch challenge, so I hope you join in and play! Be sure to link your creation with Inlinkz at the bottom of this post. I would love to see your creations~ Remember, there is a random WINNER at the end of the month for some great goodies!

Geometry Room Sketch Challenge 05/02/12

Hi all!  Amber here to teach this week’s Geometry Class.  I have a new sketch for you to play with, hope you enjoy it as  much as I did.

This month Stamp School has awesome new releases, perfect for those of us who struggle with masculine cards (I’m pointing at myself!).  I had so much fun using Dad’s Tool’s and Men In My Life stamp sets.  Here’s my take on the sketch:

For this card I started by stamping the golf bag onto a piece of card stock and coloring it.  I literally built my card around this one stamp.  I added patterned paper and layered these onto my base card stock.  I added the corrugated frame around my golf bag and stamped my sentiment onto a die cut.  I finished my card by adding my ribbon to top the card off.  I also used Stickles around my die cut for extra shine.

We’re adding a submission form below this post. Make up your card and post it on your blog (with a link to our blog). Submit your card by adding it below. Make sure to post it to the actual blog post and not just your general blog address. You have until 11:58 on the last day of the month to upload any challenge entries.  We will randomly choose a winner from each month’s submissions to win a prize package from Stamp School.

Enjoy!!!

It’s my turn to host this week’s Geometry Class! I hope you will play along!

I wanted my card to have a little bit of a vintage feel, so I used three different patterned papers, lace, a paper doily, and a little ribbon tab. I stamped my flowers (Flowers for Mom) in Gumdrop Green and Cotton Candy ink on Whip Cream cardstock. I added Diamond Stickles to the flower.

Happy Stamping!

What I love about this card is that it’s monochromatic.  I’ve said it time and again…green and yellow are the welcome mats for Spring.  No where is that more applicable than on a Mother’s Day Card.  I can’t WAIT to see how you use this sketch.  Now remember, you can flip it, reverse it and turn it up side down.  It’s yours to play with!

Hello! Samantha here with a brand new sketch.  This is a great sketch for those who like clean and simple cards or those who like frill and lots of layers. Don’t be afraid to rotate it 90 degrees either!

Here’s my card made from the sketch:

The bottom inked and stamped layer is stamped directly on the card base. To create this effect, I  created a mask from a nesting die. I have created a video of this technique, just scroll down to the end of this post to find it. I used Flowers For Mom to stamp the flowers. I trimmed the blue flowers out and added them to the leaves with foam dimensional adhesive to really make them a pretty focal piece on the card.

We’re adding a submission form below this post. Make up your card and post it on your blog (with a link to our blog of course *wink*). Submit your card by adding it below. Make sure to post it to the actual blog post and not just your general blog address. You have until 11:58 on the last day of the month to upload any challenge entries.

Geometry Room Sketch Challenge 04/04/12

Hi everyone!  Amber here from The Country Scrapper to teach this week’s Geometry Class.  I have been so inspired by the April release from Stamp School.  Tonite I’m sharing a very fun sketch that is super easy to follow.

A very simple sketch….but there’s so much you can do to dress it up.  Take a look at my card:

One of my favorite techniques is stamping a coordinating ink color on to matching card stock.  For this card I started with a Razzleberry (hot pink) card stock base.  I then took a piece of lighter pink card stock (Bubblegum) and layered it on top.  I stamped my sentiment with the darling “Women In My Life” Sentiment Stamps.  I took a stamp from the “Flowers for Mom” Stamp Set and stamped it using Bubblegum Ink onto my Bubblegum Card Stock.  I cut 2 banners out of Banana Split Felt.  I added ribbon, a cameo, and pin.  I used Liquid Pearl at the bottom of my Bubblegum Card Stock for added shine.  I love the Springy colors that make up this card.

We’re adding a submission form below this post. Make up your card and post it on your blog (with a link to our blog of course). Submit your card by adding  a direct link to your card below. You have until 11:58 on the last day of the month to upload any challenge entries.

Geometry Class 3-21-12

Hello! Samantha here with a brand new sketch challenge.  Sometimes I just want a clean and simple card that I can make quickly, so I tried to come up with a sketch that would work well with that type of card. Here it is:

I love using black, white, and red together so I combined those colors with the above sketch  and this months newly released stamps, and this is what I came up with:

The words from To the Future are so elegant that they really need very little dressing up. The make a beautiful focal point for a clean and simple card.

Geometry Class 3-14-12

Good morning! Judy here with Geometry Class for the week!

I hope that you will play along!

I used one of the sentiments from Stamp School’s new March stamp sets, To The Future, and some pretty designer paper and embellishments to make this quick card.

I stamped my sentiment with Hot Fudge ink on Whip Cream cardstock, then cut out using my Grand Calibur and Spellbinders Labels Three Nestabilities die. The card base is also Whip Cream, with a layer of Hot Fudge before the designer paper. It really goes together quickly!

Geometry Class 02/22/12

Hi guys! Who’s ready for Geometry Class??? This week I’ve drawn a sketch to share with you:

The sketch is for your inspiration, but don’t forget to make it your own. Here’s my take:

Meet Hannah!  She loves flying her kite and balloon.  For my card I simply stamped Hannah in black ink onto white cardsdtock.  I then colored her using my Copics and added a rub on sentiment.  I cut out my stamp with scalloped square nestabilties.  I then cut a piece of light pink felt with my square nesties.  I adhered all of this onto light pink cardstock, added a brad, and Stickles to my balloon.

We would love to see your take on this week’s Geometry Class sketch.  Create a card and post it to your blog (with a link to our blog of course).  Submit your card by adding your link below. Make sure to post it to the actual blog post and not just your general blog address. You have until 11:58 on the last day of the month to upload any challenge entries.
